Introduction
About Pelvic Reconstruction

When surgery is necessary, our team of uniquely qualified surgeons is prepared to provide any procedure necessary using the most advanced techniques. Common procedures include:

Prolapse Repair: We are experienced repairing the three most common female prolapses: cystoceles, enteroceles and rectoceles. Prolapse repairs can be done transvaginally, abdominally, laparoscopically and/or robotically. Our objective is clear: to correct the anatomy, to provide better function and to relieve the symptoms caused by the condition.

Robotic Sacrocolpopexy: Robotic-assisted sacrocolpopexy is a type of surgery used to repair pelvic organ prolapse. The use of the daVinci® Surgical System allows precise positioning and better pelvic access than traditional laparoscopic approaches.

The robotic surgical system allows us to have a similar level of control to open sacrocolpopexy. For some people, using the robotic technique may lower the risk of complications, reduce the length of the hospital stay and shorten recovery time. This has proven to be an excellent option and alternative instead of placing vaginal mesh transvaginally.

Mesh – Complications & Repair: Mesh-augmented repairs have been successfully performed on hundreds of thousands of women across the globe. For many women suffering from the debilitating symptoms caused by prolapsing pelvic organs, it has been a lifeline. Without a question, mesh-augmented surgery has revolutionized the care of many women with pelvic organ prolapse for the better.

As with any surgical procedure, the use of mesh is not appropriate for every patient with pelvic organ prolapse and complications can occur. For patients suffering from mesh complications, we can help. Contact us for more information on mesh-augmented repairs, correction of mesh complications or mesh removal.
